In September 2007, our non-profit organization “Aufwind – Uplift” was founded by individuals from varied professional backgrounds who share a goal: we want to further develop our proven development ideas and project concepts for Central Asia, multiply them, and extend our geographical reach to other regions.

Over 15 years of experience in development and social work in Central Asia have demonstrated that local populations welcome simple and inclusive projects. These have been accepted and successfully implemented by the populations they affect.

Our role in project management is to identify human resources and potential on the ground. Based on these resources, we develop concepts tailored to the specific needs of the local population. Our concepts are simple and holistic. Our overarching goals are to be effective and, in particular, to support and help build local engagement in civil society.

…with excellent results

Our work is its own reward - despite all the difficulties arising from the transformation and globalization of Central Asia’s post-soviet societies. The results of our projects to date show it is well worthwhile to provide Uplift.

In order to multiply the results of our work, we founded the non-profit organization “Aufwind – Uplift e.V.” in September 2007 to serve as a platform for new projects.
